Kind of high-tech meets high-touch. Things to avoid. With any relationship, there are always things you're just going to have to deal with. And with any pool, you have to clean it, add chemicals and give general TLC. However, high-maintenance-types can be a real pain, and my family knew we didn't need the hassle. That ruled out fiberglass and gunite. I don't want to lose a pool to acid washing, like with gunite. I don't want to worry about anything cracking up - namely, me - when the fiberglass shell starts shifting. And I don't want to bandage scraped knees and elbows from rough surfaces.
